È il disco in cui le orchestrazioni iniziano a prendere il sopravvento sulle sonorità propriamente metal.\nIl lavoro propose alti picchi di sperimentazione, soprattutto per quanto riguardava il cantato. Johnsson adottò un nuovo stile vocale e si fece affiancare da due cantanti lirici: il soprano Claudio Maria Mohri che già aveva collaborato con i Celtic Frost ed un basso. Questa produzione rappresenta il definitivo addio della band all'originario sound death metal. Il gruppo andò in tour in Germania con gli Annihilator e suonò per la prima volta in Sud America.
